They don't have a team that can deal with injuries or exhaustion. They're like like a thinner, less talented Roma. I want them to do well, but...they won't be contending for at least a year or two.

The fact that Fiorentina stayed undefeated for so long tricked me into thinking that they were better than they really are. It could be exhaustion, as Martha points out, but even Inter is tired (yet they're still winning).

(Mancini says they're bringing only 13 players to Eindhoven.)

They look exhausted, Chris, it's hard to watch. I'm hoping they can limp into the break within sight of the top four and let their bones knit in preparation for a second-half miracle.

Mutu for 17m + Diarra? Holy shyte. Diego Della Valle should take that and run before Real comes to their senses. (Not likely, but still.) Seriously, that's a deal which I wouldn't even expect tribalfootball to put up. Is Real trying to make Pepe look like a good buy?

(Is this where I get to say I told you so about Fiorentina? 2 points in 5 games is not good.)

The Mutu-to-Real thing has been around all season; I think if Fiorentina qualify for Champions League (not looking good right now), he'll stay, beyond that it's hard to say because of the salary cap in Florence. He is, however, very settled and happy there, and has a great relationship with Prandelli, something of which he's mature enough to understand the importance.

(And Tuttosport basically are Juve, so take that with a big old grain of salt, though it's certainly an insistent rumor. I wish I was rich enough to consider £700,000 a mere quibble!)

Have a safe trip!
