E ‘questa la nuova maglia azzurro?

(Is this the new blue jersey?)

I think it is!

Yeah, we already know what the away (white) shirt looks like, and while it’s kind of grown on me since my initial impressions, I’m still not too wild about the super-rounded font.

This blue one though… I think it makes up for the disco-inferno white! To be honest, it comes as a bit of a surprise; were it not for the guys on the BigSoccer forum, I’d have never known about it.  See… I (and most others, in all likelihood) didn’t expect to see the Azzurri home shirt until next month, as that’s when it’s set to be officially unveiled. However, it looks as though some French retailer (go figure) has let the Puma out of the bag.

I’m hosting an image of the shirt below, just in case Puma tells the wonderful French to take their image down.

Is it me or is that a weird blue?

I can’t say I’m a fan, but it’s going to look a lot different without a number and a body underneath. It’d be the sexiest piece of fashion in the history of time if, say, it were to read “10 Totti”…

No, for it to be the sexiest piece of fashion in the history of time, it would have to read “Baggio 10.”

*ducks and runs for cover*

I think the weirdness of the blue is the fabric. That really screwed with our heads last time; it looked like a platinum jersey or something. You’re right - it’ll look different (and probably much better) on a person.

I’d like to see what font style and color they’re going to use.

I love the Italian flag on the back collar. It’s simple, i like it. Didn’t like the armpit swirls we used last go around though I had to buy one after the WC victory.

I like the flag on the collar too. It’s a nice touch.

The armpit swirls actually looked better on the white training shirt that they were using. In my opinion, that should’ve been the away shirt, instead of the blue neck triangle one.

They didn’t bother me on the blue one, but I have heard them called “armpit stains.”

No doubt. I can’t wait to see how it looks on players though. (They always look better as a whole kit.)
